Nail Of The Day: Julip Sienna & Yumi

Gold base (natural light)
Sienna-Julip
Pink Sparkles (natural light)

From left to right: Julip Sienna & Yumi
I went to Sephora with my friends, so obviously I had to paint my nails. I tried using Julip because quite frankly I didn't see myself investing in the $14 nail polish and I desperately wanted rose gold nails. The polishes I used were very very opaque but were also very very thick. You really needed to get a lot of polish on the brush to be able to spread it all over the nail. You also have to wait for the nail polish to completely dry before layering on another coat because otherwise that stuff smears everywhere and it is not fun. The pink glitter nail polish I used on top of the gold was Yumi and it was just your standard clear polish with chunks of glitter, also the same consistency as the first. I surprisingly only used one coat of each nail polish and it was completely opaque.
I thought the rose gold nails would be flattering on my skin tone but I actually found that they looked pretty dull on my nails. Maybe it was just the colors? Or maybe rose gold just doesn't work for desis?
I wish the consistency of the polish was a little easier to work with but it turned out okay. The only dupe I can for Yumi is the Essie Luxeffects "A Cut Above", and that one has bigger glitter in it.
Overall I'm satisfied with my nails, but are the polishes worth the $14? Eh.....

Nail Of The Day: Butter London Disco Biscuit

Natural Light, 3 coats
I was so excited because this was my first Butter London nail polish! I've heard a lot about this and was super excited to paint my nails. The color payoff is great but my one complaint is that the color is super super sheer so it took me a good three coats to get it to the color you see in the picture. Also, this might have just been my bottle but the polish dried pretty matte so I definitely needed my handy dandy top coat to make sure it was nice and glossy. Glitter polishes are a pain to remove so I had my fair share of difficulties getting this bad boy off my nails. The color was so beautiful with my skin tone and I think it would be flattering on everyone! The only dupe I can think of is OPI's I'm All Ears from the Minnie Mouse collection which is out right now! The only difference is that the OPI polish has red glitter whereas the Disco Biscuit has blue glitter....so I mean everyone will obviously be able to tell the difference....
Overall, a great summer color and I definitely recommend if you have the patience! :)
