From left to right: Julip Sienna & Yumi |
I went to Sephora with my friends, so obviously I had to paint my nails. I tried using Julip because quite frankly I didn't see myself investing in the $14 nail polish and I desperately wanted rose gold nails. The polishes I used were very very opaque but were also very very thick. You really needed to get a lot of polish on the brush to be able to spread it all over the nail. You also have to wait for the nail polish to completely dry before layering on another coat because otherwise that stuff smears everywhere and it is not fun. The pink glitter nail polish I used on top of the gold was Yumi and it was just your standard clear polish with chunks of glitter, also the same consistency as the first. I surprisingly only used one coat of each nail polish and it was completely opaque.
I thought the rose gold nails would be flattering on my skin tone but I actually found that they looked pretty dull on my nails. Maybe it was just the colors? Or maybe rose gold just doesn't work for desis?
I wish the consistency of the polish was a little easier to work with but it turned out okay. The only dupe I can for Yumi is the Essie Luxeffects "A Cut Above", and that one has bigger glitter in it.
Overall I'm satisfied with my nails, but are the polishes worth the $14? Eh.....
