Nail Of The Day: OPI Last Friday Night

3-4 coats on top of white base,  Natural Light

Last Friday Night is from OPI's Katy Perry collection released a couple summers ago I think. This is probably the sheerest pastel blue I have ever used. At first I thought the color would show up just as bright on my nails and I painted my nails without a white base and I couldn't even see the color on my nails. I ended up repainting my nails with a white base because I was desperate to get the color to work. I'm not sure if this is just the bottle I bought or all of the Last Friday Night polishes but the formula for this was almost gel-like and I didn't mind it but if you don't like super thick formulas that aren't the easiest to manipulate then I'd stay away from this. I put 3-4 coats of the polish on top of the white base and you can see the results above still aren't the best. I would treat this like a glitter polish and just use it as a top coat over a creme finish baby blue. ALSO I personally don't like matte nails at all because I need my nails to be glossy enough to see my reflection and this polish dries matte so just a little warning for you guys.
Honestly I'd pass on this polish it really wasn't worth the hassle even 50% off :(

MAC Electric Cool Shadow Swatches & Review

MAC just came out with a new collection of twelve creme eyeshadows that retail for $18.50 each called the Electric Cool Shadows. The collection is only released at Nordstrom MAC counters right now but will be released in all other counters and MAC stores on August 2nd. I'd say the collection is mostly bright colors but there are some nice neutrals as well. All of the creme eyeshadows have a tons of shimmer and glitter so if you don't like that then these might not be for you. These are EXTREMELY soft and just dabbing your finger into the products is all I needed to even swatch them on my hand. I apply these with my finger because I find that using a brush with these wastes a LOT of product.
Pros: This is extremely creamy, extremely pigmented, it can be used on its own and as a base. The staying power is very impressive. I wore them yesterday with a primer underneath and they lasted a good 6 hours but I have yet to wear them without a primer for some reason..The color payoff is great and so is the opacity.
Cons: The price. Quite frankly the amount of product you get for the price you pay is simply just not worth it. You're paying almost $19 for only 2.1 grams of product. To compare, a MAC paint pot contains 5 grams of product and cost $17.50. You're paying a dollar left for more than double the amount of product. My biggest concern is running out of the shadow quite quickly because there is so little product. Also since they are so soft, the shadows can melt or even appear to have "cracked" in the pan and I'll show you in the pictures.

My recommendation for these shadows is to maybe get one neutral shade if you really want to but other than that just stick to the unique colors and shades because you can just get a MAC paint pot or even the Maybelline Color Tattoos which are around $5 for almost 4 grams of product. Unfortunately I got 3 neutrals and only one bold color but I will definitely be going back for the daring colors because I swatched them on my hand and basically died at the duochrome and vibrancy of the colors.

The shades I got are: Superwatt, Coil, Electroplate, and Fashion Circuit
The four shadows just chillin in my front yard.

SUPERWATT
Superwatt is a slightly darker shampagne color with more brown undertones rather than golden ones. Honestly when I first swatched this it looked almost like glitter on my skin but as I got a little more product it started to look more like MAC's All That Glitters in the form of a creme shadow. This color would work great as a highlight for fair skinned people and for us desis I actually really like this as an all over the lid color or even something to put on the center of your lid so your eyes look bigger. Since it does have that yellow-brown undertone I think it's much more flattering on people with yellow undertones. As you can see in the pan, the shadow is slightly cracked. I took it back to the MAC counter hoping they would allow me to exchange it for a new one but they told me all the shadows were like that and I wasn't losing any product.

COIL
In the pot, Coil looks like a gorgeous shimmery metallic copper-bronze but on the lids it translates as more of a warm metallic brown. It look so similar to Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze. The only difference between the two is that the Color Tattoo has silver shimmer whereas Coil has a golden frost to it. I'd say you could skip out on this one just because it's so similar to ever other warm brown shadow.

ELECTROPLATE
Electroplate is a gray-silver but it is definitely muted and to me seems to have more of a purple undertone. In the second picture you can see where I dabbed my finger and that I wasn't kidding when I said I just barely touched the eye shadow to get a nice swatch.

FASHION CIRCUIT
I was very surprised at this colors opacity because normally when swatched these colors appear normal but on the lids they sheer out and you're just left with disappointment. I really like using this on the lower lashline for a nice pop of color in the summer!

MAC Heavenly Creatures Haul & Swatches

Soooo I purchased a few things from the Heavenly Creatures collection because I have the least self control in the entire world. I realize this is super late since the collection came out about a month ago but now after using them I can tell you guys what I think of all these products and trust me there's quite a few.
Lip glosses just chillin in the sun
Galaxy Rose, Meteoric
One swipe

First are the lip glosses. There were five cremesheen lip glasses in this collection but I only ended up getting two because the others looked like there were dupes for them in the permanent collection. The cremesheen lip glasses are my favorite because they're the most opaque and for someone with super pigmented lips like me I rely on these big time on my lazy days. Although these glosses are a little sticky, their staying power makes them worth it. Meteoric is the bright coral with the golden orange shimmer that I don't think the camera picked up. It reminds me of the NARS Orgasm blush but obviously in lip glass form. It is pretty opaque but not as opaque as Galaxy Rose. I love this color so much and it looks beautiful on our skin tones! Galaxy Rose is definitely not a color I would really go for in the summer. It's more of a purple-berry color and is a true cream gloss with no shimmer or sheen to it whatsoever. I'd wear this more during the fall time but it's pretty unique from the other Cremesheen lip glasses. Galaxy Rose is actually very close to my natural lip color (a mauvey purple) which is why I bought it and thought I might be able to pull it off. Typical of me. Both of these lasted a good amount of time but Galaxy Rose lasted a little longer just because it was more opaque than Meteroric.

Next is the lipstick! I only picked up one

Two coats, all in natural light
I was actually looking for a nice coral lipstick and this is what they recommended me. From what I've heard this lipstick is actually a re promote from a previous collection probably a while ago. Cut A Caper is a luster finish which is not my favorite finish, however the color is very build-able and doesn't necessarily need a gloss on top because it has that shine to it. On the flip side, this lipstick does not last for very long on my lips. I find that since my lips are super pigmented so the color of this particular lip stick does not really show up on my lips. I would recommend using an orange lip liner underneath if you want a vibrant coral color or a nude liner for just a subtle wash of color. When I wear it on my lips by itself it just kind of looks like I'm wearing tinted chapstick or something....I was hoping this lipstick would be what Meteoric looks like in lipstick form :( I'm not the biggest fan but I guess it's pretty.

Blush! Again, I just bought one of these.

Mixed with gold shimmer, just the fuchsia part
I don't know if this is just me but whenever I look at Mac's blushes I'm always super uninspired. I feel like they're all browny and muddy and wouldn't really show up well on Indian, tanner skin tones I guess. Even in this collection there were two blushes that were just so. I can't even explain my anger. One was literally a highlight and the other was just straight up glitter on me. So, when I saw this bright, bold, fuchsia I had to have it, so I bought it. Oh my god the pigmentation on this is ridiculous. I literally just tap my brush in this once and then apply it to my cheeks and it gives THE PRETTIEST flush to the cheeks. If there's one thing you need to get in this collection it's this. Since it is a fuchsia or a brightened raspberry color, it is cool toned and has blue undertones to it. I usually don't go for cool toned shades because I find that they don't look very good on my yellow toned skin. I think this color is great for ALL skin tones though and it's definitely a must have for me. The shimmer in it isn't super cakey either which is nice and just gives your cheeks a nice sheen and you can definitely aim your brush in the areas without the gold shimmer. Sometimes the color can be a little hard to blend onto your cheeks just because it is so bright and you don't really want to look like a clown but it does stay on for a long time.

K so this last eyeshadow was a total impulse buy but it's so pretty so I don't even want to hear it.

Natural Light, one swatch, all the colors swirled together
This shadow is so breath taking. I didn't want to get another neutral eye shadow because I literally have millions of those and I feel like once you have one set of them you kind of have them all. So I went for this pinky champagne color that definitely can be pulled off in a neutral eye but still has a hint of color. The swirls in the pan consist of a raspberry pink, a tomato red, and a gold just a tad on the orange side. It reminds me of Mythology also by Mac but I little more champagne and a lot more glittery rather than shimmery. The only problem I have with this color is the fallout and definitely apply it with a synthetic brush because otherwise the shadow will just stick to your brush and not on your eyes....how useless right. However, the color applies a lot more vibrant and true to color if you apply it with a wet brush. Overall I like the shadow but it's not my favorite!

Sorry for the long post, but I hope you enjoyed!

Review: Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle

Deep conditioners are ridiculously expensive and my hair is probably the driest thing I have ever seen so when I heard people raving about this and I saw that it only costs $3 I was dying to try it. It smells like Pina Colada which I love and the smell lasts for a good few hours, but I don't think this product really does anything to my hair. I've tried it around 5-6 times because the first time I let it soak for 3 minutes and rinsed it out of my hair and there was no difference in how my hair felt. As I kept trying it again I left it in for longer and this last time I left it in for 15 minutes and BARELY felt a result. If you have thinner hair than me, and I have ridiculously thick hair, then this might work for you but for us poofy haired girls I'd stay away from this one.
Another thing I didn't like about this product was that it takes forever to rinse out because it has that kind of slimy feeling to it when its in your hair so it's hard to feel for.

For girls with thicker hair, I know this is gross but I HIGHLY recommend putting good ol' fashioned indian coconut oil in your hair and letting it sit for a good 10 minutes that's all you need and then rinsing that out thoroughly with shampoo. Ladies. This works and my hair is always super soft and hydrated and I love it. You can find this coconut oil at literally any and every indian supermarket store and it's pretty cheap and you get a lot of it.

Overall, not impressed but it was only $3 so it could be worth a shot for someone else!

Nail Of The Day: Revlon Buttercup

I've heard so many things about this nail polish and that it's like the cheaper alternative for gel nails. I've had the polish on for a good week and there is literally not a single chip on any of my nails but alas the time has come to change my polish because I'm a freak like that. I'm definitely going to get my hands on some other colors in this line though to see if all of them are as good as Buttercup. Buttercup is a creme finish pale, pale yellow polish. Unlike most yellow nail polishes this one actually looks good on my nails AND it's subtle enough that people a mile away don't get blinded by your nails and joke about you being a ray of sunshine....
Natural Light, 3 coats
Say hi to my feet ^^
Bottle, Natural Light
The formula itself of these nail polishes is very thick but you do have to wait between each coat because otherwise the polish gets super streaky. I had to apply three coats because I kept painting on the next coat without waiting for the polish to fully dry. The color is very true to how it looks in the bottle (thank god) because I was worried it was just going to look like white on my nails. The pale yellow also makes me look super tan and brings out my yellow undertones and it's super flattering!

My only complaint about this polish is the streakiness, I remember after painting my nails I was so frustrated and was determined to hate the polish but of course it won me over. <3 Best yellow I've tried so far (and the most affordable). BUY IT

Nail Of The Day: OPI If You Moust You Moust

Natural Light, 2 coats
Shade, 2 coats
Bottle, natural light

I bought this color thinking it was going to be a nice creamy mid-tone pink similar to OPI's Elephantastic Pink....but it wasn't...and I remember painting my nails and just being like k...This color is a blue toned highlighter pink color and the first thing that pops into my head when I see this color on my nails is the Viva Glam Nicki lipstick by MAC. Yup. It's Nicki Minaj bright. I remember trying on the Viva Glam Nicki lipstick and I was using my finger to blend in the color on my lips and I literally couldn't tell what was my finger and what were my lips and basically had a major derp moment as the MAC lady just kind of stared at me staring at my fingers.
The lighting in the pictures really doesn't show how neon this color is on my nails and even though it wasn't what I wanted I still really like the color. This color is also super opaque and I only really needed one coat but I went back with a thin second coat just in case. I think the color looks really nice on my skin tone and I think it would go with people with lighter skin tones too! For anyone who's been eyeing this color for a while, it is not your standard pink so don't be too shocked when you paint your nails and it is limited edition so snatch it quickly!
